Software Engineer/Game Developer

MORF Interactive Communications (Malaysia) has a job opening for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER for Online Games Development.

Working as part of a regional Asia-Pacific team, you will play an integral role within the Software Development Team. Based at our Mont’ Kiara Office, this role is a full-time permanent position.
This role focuses on specific engineering responsibilities in projects as part of a team. These activities occur across the area of virtual world software, online games and related environments.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and debug data flow from server to game client (via PHP, JavaScript connections, and Web Services)
• Propose and design new online games for our various web portals
• Develop games in multiple languages such as flash action script, unity/c#, Silverlight, etc
• Liaise with graphics team
Skills Required:
• Understanding of design patterns
• An eye toward quality user experience, fun-factor, and viral features
• Understand, implement and extend game designs
• Have strong XML Skills
• Excellent written/ verbal communication and presentation skills
• Solid C# development skills (.Net 2.0, 3.5)
• At least 2 years of industry experience
• SQL Server 2005/2008 database development
• Winforms and Server development
Desirable skills/experience
• Facebook & social network integrations
• Flex / AIR Experience
• GUI design
• Performance optimization
• .Net compact framework
• Exposure to agile development methods
• Knowledge of open-source tools such as NAnt and WIX
• Knowledge of automated unit testing methods and tools such as NUnit
• Embedded development tools/devices
• A working knowledge of IP communications
• Object Oriented Programming (AS2 and/or AS3)
The successful candidate must be a self-starter, have a conceptual and creative mindset, and practical approaches to problem solving. Multiple language skills other than English, Malay, Chinese or Indian are highly desirable but not essential.
